CBI Bracket Challenge Final Results
As we enter the CBI Semifinals this evening, lets provide an update on our CBI Bracket Challenge.
The CBI has produced some amazing games while the NCAA Tournament is on break until Thursday. Chicago State upset UC San Diego 77-75 in the first round and nearly upset Fairfield in the Quarterfinals in what ended up as a 77-74 loss. The largest margin in a win in the first round was 13 points in Seattle U’s victory over Delaware State, however, 5 out of the 7 games were determined by just one possession.
For those of you that entered our first annual CBI Bracket Challenge, here’s the scoreboard:
Out of the 17 entries, 9 brackets have already seen their Championships pick fall. Many as a result of the Chicago State upset in the first round. Here’s how we broke down the scoring:
First Round Pick: 5 Points
Quarterfinals Pick: 10 Points
Semifinals Pick: 20 Points
Championship Pick: 40 Points
Two brackets picked the Semifinals matchups perfectly, so congratulations to the brackets Madre & CJBlake4. These two brackets did select different matchups in the Championship game, but Extend Fran is right in the race as well. We shall see who will most likely emerge victoriously this evening or tomorrow in the Championship! Here’s this evening’s schedule:
#1 High Point vs #4 Arkansas State at 6pm CDT on ESPN2
#3 Seattle U vs #7 Fairfield at 8pm CDT on ESPN2
Updated as of 3/28/24
Last night Seattle U knocked off High Point in a 77-67 victory. It was back and forth the entire game up until the 1:39 mark in the second half where High Point was down just 2 points, but fell apart and ended up losing by 10.
Just one bracket picked Seattle U as the championship winner, kudos to you Klassy. Here’s the final results from our first annual CBI Bracket Challenge:
Congratulations to our Bracket Challenge winner, Madre!
We appreciate everyone that participated in this first annual challenge!
